Book signing by 'Nastiest Saloon in Iowa' authors on July 16 at 5 pm

Authors David and Rose Donovan will sign copies of their book "the Nastiest Saloon in Iowa" at Plain Talk on Thursday, July 16 at 5 pm.

The book tells the tale of Des Moines saloon proprietor Erastus Wallace Scott and his cousins in the infamous Carter Gang and their campaign of murder, fraud, corruption, and prostitution from his bar on Court Ave., and the crime family's reach beyond, in the early decades of the 20th century.

This all-ages event is free and open to the public.
