Poets Fomon, Soloy & Rouse to read on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 4 pm

Josh Fomon will read from his new book of poems on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 4 pm at Plain Talk.

Fomon will be joined by Des Moines poets Julien Rouse and BJ Soloy, whose book Birth Center in Corporate Woods was published last year.

Fomon, from Iowa City and based in Seattle, will read from his second book of poetry Our Human Shores (published by Black Ocean in 2025).

Fomon's book of poems is "a lyrical exploration of the Anthropocene, climate change, ecopoetics, inequality, and a speculative meditation on what life means staring down the apocalypse."

In addition to Fomon's first book, Though We Bled Meticulously, his poems have appeared in a variety of journals, including Afternoon Visitor, Caketrain, DIAGRAM, DREGINALD, The Georgia Review, jubilat, mercury firs, Poetry Northwest, TYPO, and Yalobusha Review.

This all-ages event is free and open to the public.
